About Wytheville Redevelopment and Housing Authority

Our History

The Wytheville Redevelopment and Housing (WRHA) was created in 1968 to provide affordable housing to low-income families through the Public Housing program in Wytheville, Virginia. In 1983 more public housing was developed and since 1999 the Agency has more than doubled its affordable housing through various programs including the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV), Project Based Voucher Program (PBV), Mainstream Vouchers and Tax Credits to develop new, affordable apartments throughout the Town.

Residents in our locality will be provided with affordable housing options that are free of housing discrimination and architectural barriers. New and existing housing developments will provide quality living environments and all agency programs will be administered with the emphasis on efficiency, effectiveness and equity.
